Quick Start Guide

Welcome to Redbook Assist. This guide walks you through setting up your practice and completing your first valuation.

1. Register your account

Visit redbookassist.uk/register and enter your details. You will need:

  • Your name and email address
  • Your RICS designation (e.g. MRICS, FRICS, AssocRICS)
  • Your practice name
All new accounts start with a 14-day free trial with full access to every feature.

2. Set up your practice

After registration, your practice is created automatically. Head to Settings in the sidebar to:

  • Upload your practice logo (used on PDF reports)
  • Add your practice address and contact details
  • Configure your default report template

3. Add a client

Navigate to Clients and click Add Client. Enter your client's name, company, and contact details. Clients are linked to properties and valuations to keep everything organised.

4. Add a property

Go to Properties and click Add Property. Enter the address and Redbook Assist will automatically fetch data from six external sources:

  • EPC — Energy Performance Certificate ratings and recommendations
  • Land Registry — Historical sale prices and ownership
  • Flood Risk — Environment Agency flood zone classification
  • Planning — Local planning applications and conservation area status
  • VOA — Rateable value, floor area, and market rent benchmarks
  • Street View — Google Street View imagery

5. Create a valuation

Open the property and click New Valuation. Select your valuation approach (comparison, investment, residual, etc.) and the system will guide you through the calculation inputs. All six Red Book approaches are supported.

6. Generate a PDF report

Once your valuation is complete, click Generate Report. Redbook Assist produces a professional PDF that follows RICS Red Book (VPS 3) requirements, including all mandatory items and your practice branding.

That is it — you have completed your first valuation. Explore the sidebar to manage comparables, invite team members, and customise your settings.
