Generating PDF Reports

Redbook Assist generates professional PDF valuation reports that comply with RICS Red Book (VPS 3) requirements.

Generating a report

  1. Open the valuation you want to report on
  2. Ensure the valuation status is Completed (draft valuations can also generate preview reports)
  3. Click Generate Report
  4. The PDF is created server-side and downloaded to your device
Generation typically takes 1-3 seconds.

What the report includes

The PDF report contains:

  • Cover page — Practice logo, property address, valuation date, reference number
  • Mandatory VPS 3 items — Identification of the valuer, client, property, purpose, basis of value, valuation date, extent of investigation, and sources of information
  • Property description — Address, type, tenure, and key characteristics
  • External data summaries — EPC rating, flood risk zone, Land Registry transactions, planning status, VOA data
  • Valuation approach — Full calculation workings with all inputs shown
  • Comparable evidence — Summary table with adjustments and analysis
  • Valuation opinion — The concluded value with supporting commentary
  • Caveats and assumptions — Standard RICS-compliant caveats
  • RICS compliance statement — Confirmation of Red Book compliance

Report branding

Your practice logo and details appear on the cover page and footer. Configure these in Settings > Practice Details.

Sharing reports

The generated PDF is a standard file that you can:

  • Email to your client directly
  • Upload to a document management system
  • Print for physical records
  • Store in your practice files

Report accuracy

The PDF faithfully reproduces the data stored in Redbook Assist at the time of generation. If you update property data or valuation inputs after generating a report, you will need to generate a new report to reflect those changes. Previous reports are not automatically updated — this is correct behaviour for audit trail purposes.
